Sacramento California Jail Bond
In the wake of the Gold Rush of 1849, Sacramento California's first jails were a series of ships anchored in the Sacramento river. The last of the three, named "La Grange" sank in the flooding of 1862, just minutes after the inmates were taken ashore.

A courthouse jail had already been built at the corner of 7th and I Streets and was in use between 1855 to 1912, when a new courthouse was built out of California granite, just blocks away on H Street, between 6th and 7th Streets. That jail was renovated in 1967 to provide space for the Sheriffs Administration office. The current jail at 651 I Street began operating in 1989. That facility, known as The Lorenzo Patio Hall of Justice serves as both the location of departments of the Sacramento Superior Court and also houses the Sacramento County Main Jail. It has 1,252 total cells that are rated to hold a maximum of 2,432 inmates, 90% of whom have been charged with felonies. On a typical day, there are only 20 to 30 empty beds.
Besides inmates awaiting trail, the jail also holds between 400 and 450 Federal prisoners brought in by the United States Marshals Office, and as many as 80 Federal inmates for ICE. Inmates are also held while waiting for extradition or transfer to California State Prison. On average, 135 new inmates are booked each day. The jail serves about eight thousand meals daily, at a cost of just over three dollars each.

If you have a friend or relative who is in custody on a felony charge, there could be complications (possibly even a 1275 hold) in the process of arranging bail. This is a situation in which you should choose your bail agency carefully.

We have extensive professional contacts at all levels of the court system and know the specific details of the process. Whether the bail amount is large or small, regardless of any complications (including a 1275 hold) that may arise, we attend to all the details in the shortest amount of time that the system will permit.
